Social Skills Group Overview
Instruction will include Social Skill activities specifically designed for students on the spectrum. Skills will be taught to address individual social needs based on parent feedback, Instructors observations and recommendations.
Target Skills to be addressed include:
- Skills for building and maintaining friendships.
- Managing emotions and building self confidence.
- Social planning skills e.g. inviting friends out and planning activities to share.
- Instruction on reading social cues
Students will view videos that demonstrate skills for conversation, self-confidence, friendship, faces and emotions and tips and tricks for dealing with stress and more.
Activities will include cooperative play, planning outings, creative projects designed to initiate social interaction and role play activities.
